Scheduling Your Surgery

Step 1: Time to Invest!

Pay your deposit to secure a surgical date. We accept cash, all major credit cards, and Carecredit. To finance your surgery with carecredit, please apply at http://www.carecredit.com/apply/ .

Step 2: Make sure you are healthy for surgery

Your safety and health is our number one concern. There is a reason we have over 10,000 happy patients without any serious complications. We require all our patients to obtain a medical clearance prior to surgery. A medical clearance consists of a basic physical examination and routine blood tests. We will provide a letter via email to be given to your medical clearance physician detailing our pre-operative protocol. Depending on your age, you may also need an EKG (40+) and a chest x-ray (50+). Women who are 30 or older will need a mammogram before any breast surgery.

Schedule a visit with your primary care doctor or visit any walk-in urgent care clinic for your medical clearance within 30 days of the surgery.Don’t forget to bring the letter with instructions for your clearance doctor!

If you do not have your own doctor, you can schedule your medical clearance with our office for Wednesday mornings between 10AM-12PM. If you would like our help finding a doctor near you, please do not hesitate to call us and we will be happy to assist you.

Step 3: Pre-operative Appointment

We will schedule you for a preoperative appointment two (2) weeks prior to surgery. The purpose of this visit is to:

  • Review all pre and post-operative instructions
  • Answer any questions, review your medications
  • Provide you with a detailed shopping list
  • Collect your clearance Doctor information.

This appointment can be done either in-person at our office or over the phone, whichever you prefer 🙂

Step 4a: For out of town patients: Your First “date” with Dr. Miami!

We will schedule you with an in-person appointment the day prior to surgery to meet with the Doctor and complete paperwork and sign consents.

Step 4b: Pre-operative instructions phone call

One of our friendly nursing staff will call you the evening before the “big day” to give your arrival time. She will go over all the instructions to prepare for you for your procedure. For most patients, this means nothing to eat or drink after midnight.

Step 5: YAY! THE BIG DAY IS HERE!

When you arrive to our facility at your scheduled time, proceed to the second floor. A nurse will greet you warmly and usher you into the pre-operative holding area. There is a couch and a comfy bed to rest in while you go over any remaining paperwork. Pre-operative photos will be taken. You meet the doctor and discuss the procedure plan and goals in detail.
